Elevation Polish Wyoming the Wild Collection + Khongoryn Els

*Press Samples*

Hi everyone! Today I have Elevation Polish's new collection for April, the Wyoming the Wild Collection. This collection contains seven brand new polishes which were inspired by Lulu's adventures in Wyoming (read more about her inspiration in her blog post). Along with the Wyoming-inspired collection, Khongoryn Els, an old favorite Elevation Polish, is being re-released. All of these are set to release on April 7th at 9 PM CDT.

Cloud Peak is a medium blue scattered holo filled with multichrome flakes. Formula was really nice with this one and it is completely opaque in 2 easy coats. This is my absolute favorite of the collection! It's another added to my list during my multichrome flake obsession. It is so gorgeous and I didn't want to take it off! The glowy holo takes the polish to a whole new level.

Fireflies in a Dark Meadow is a black jelly filled with multichrome and gold flakes. Formula spread easily on this one with great coverage in 2 coats. This is an update on a previously released (and highly sought after) SBP that was very similar but a good bit sheerer than this one (Ida Nails It! has a great comparison of the SBP vs the updated version). I missed out on that SBP, so I was ecstatic that this was released for everyone. It really glows from within and is so fantastic!

Grand Teton Sunset is a vibrant purple creme. This polish has a new formula for Elevation Polish that has a built in topcoat and it dries quickly. Because of this feature, it does not play well with topcoat and it can actually cause some dark streaking if you do use it. I found the formula easy to work with and I used 3 thin coats with no topcoat. I recommend using the thinner coats because I started out using thicker coats and got some bubbling. This polish is crazy hard to photograph and tended to look much bluer in my photos than it is in real life, so I had to adjust the color a good bit in Pixlr, but I think I got it pretty close to real life. It's one of those purples that really looks different depending on lighting and skintone (it can appear more muted or vibrant, more blue or purple). Despite all of that craziness, it's really a gorgeous purple that I think purple lovers will enjoy.

Whoa! Jackson Hole is a subtle thermal polish that shifts from a light taupey grey (warm) to a slightly darker grey (cool). The thermal shift is very subtle with this one and it stays mostly in the "warm" state on me. It also has a scattered holographic shimmer as well as some silver shimmer.  Formula has a nice thickness that is easy to spread and is completely opaque in 2 coats (it's almost a one-coater). This polish looks super sophisticated and I adore the glowy holo shimmer it has. I've got some pictures below in its different states. As I said, the thermal effect is super subtle.

Iceberg Lake is a dusty jade green creme with a soft pearly shimmer. Formula was great on this one and it was opaque in 3 thin coats. This is just my type of color (I can't even count how many polishes in this color family that I own...it's one of my favs!). The shimmer is subtle but adds a softness to the polish.

Thunder Basin is a dark chocolate brown creme. Formula was excellent on this one and it was opaque in 2 easy coats. It borders on being a crelly because the formula isn't super thick and opaque, but it's still perfect in 2 coats. I was so excited for this one because I'm completely lacking a dark brown creme in my collection and this one is perfection!

Hidden Falls is a 23K gold flake topcoat in a clear base. For this polish, I swirled my brush around to pick up the flakes (because they are one the heavier side) and I got pretty good coverage that way with a few dabs here and there to fill in as I liked. The gold in this topcoat is hand rolled and measured and therefore very time consuming to make. Because of the ingredients and labor that go into making this polish, it has a higher price tag of $25 per bottle. It's really beautiful with large chunks of gold that would look stunning over a variety of bases. I used 1 dabbed coat here over Iceberg Lake. If you don't have a gold flake topcoat in your collection, they are definitely worth the splurge. The beautiful gold flakes really elevate your mani and you just feel luxurious having gold on your nails.

Khongoryn Els is a purple tinged taupe jelly filled with purple shimmer. Formula was very easy to work with and reached opacity at 3 thin coats. I was worried that this one might be brush-strokey because of the type of shimmer that is in it, but the shimmer is completely smooth and glowy. This is a re-release from the Mongolia Collection from June 2013 and Lulu noted that there are no changes to the original formula. This polish is very chic and would be appropriate for any occasion. This isn't part of the Wyoming in the Wild Collection, but will be released at the same time.
