Pahlish August 2016 Releases: Out of Oz Collection, The Second Task Duo, and August Charity Polish Benefitting Reading is Fundamental

*Press Samples*

Hi everyone! Today I have Pahlish's offerings for August! Shannon has released the 8-piece Out of Oz Collection as well as the limited edition The Second Task Duo which will only be available in August and finally The Boxcar Children which is a charity polish that will be benefiting Reading is Fundamental (will be LE for August as well). These polish are all available now in the Pahlish shop

First up we have the Out of Oz Collection which was inspired by the Wicked book series. I started reading this series YEARS ago and for some reason never got very far. It's so well loved that I need to make and effort to start it again (AND I want to see the musical!).

Yellow Brick Road is a rich warm yellow with metallic silver flakes and a strong scattered holographic finish. Formula was easy peasy on this one and I used 2 coats for full coverage. I was so excited for a yellow holo and this one is GLORIOUS! It's so bright and in your face...just perfection!

Dorothy Gale is a bright blue cream with a mix of blue and gold flakes with soft blue-gold shimmer. Lovely formula and I used 2 coats for full opacity. You guys should know by now that I always love me some Pahlish flecked cremes and this one is no exception! The larger gold flakes are such a fun addition to the mix!

Munchkinland is a warm ivory white with copper flakes and copper shimmer. This has a great formula with no streaking (lovely for a white!) and I used 3 thin coats for full coverage. Shannon does polishes like this SO WELL. This polish is a coppery cousin to one of my favorite polishes of all time, Fleur de Sel. So dainty!

Elphaba Lives! is a soft minty green cream with green shimmer and teal ultrachrome flakes. Formula was very easy to work with and I used 3 thin coats for full coverage. This is warm minty creme and I adore the ultrachrome flakes peeking through.

My Sister's Shoes is a rich metallic silver with blue shimmer and a strong scattered holographic finish.  Formula started off slightly sheer, but built up nicely to opacity in 3 thin coats. The finish of this one is not your standard silver holo, it's so complex! The blue shimmer pops in such a fantastic way! This one also weirdly goes from a strong silver to slightly gold tinged around the edges (or at least it did to me).

Blood and Rubies is a rich violet red jelly with a mix of copper, gold, and violet-blue flakes. Formula was slightly thick due to the myriad of flakes, but it spread well and had nice coverage in 2 coats. This is one of those polishes that did not translate well in photos to me because the depth was a little lost. The flakes are so pretty peeking out of the squishy base when they catch the light.

Saint Glinda is a smoky violet with a mix of violet-pink and red shimmers with red ultrachrome flakes and a strong scattered holographic finish. Formula was excellent and I used 2 coats for full coverage. OMG...this polish you guys...you need it!! The smoky base is lovely, but the shimmery, multichromy goodness is the star of the show. It's even more amazing in person.

Lurline is a soft iris purple with violet-pink flakes and a strong scattered holographic finish. Very easy to use formula and I used 2 coats for full coverage. I adore the cool base with the flash of the warm pink flakes...SUCH an amazing purple holo. I somehow forgot to take my standard 2 finger macro, so enjoy two regular macros and soak in the shimmery goodness!

Next we have The Second Task Duo (LE for August 2016). Now why I may not know a lot about Wicked, I definitely am a Harry Potter fan and this duo is created with the second task of the Triwizard Tournament in mind from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Ponder This is an ultramarine blue creme. Formula was easy to work with and had a slight squish to it. I used 2 coats here for full coverage. Could this blue be any prettier? As is common with these blues, it photographs slightly brighter than it is in real life.

Golden Egg is a clear-based topper with a mix of metallic gold flakes, golden ultrachrome flakes, blue shimmer, and blue iridescent glitters. This has a nice flake/glitter density and spreads easily. I used 1 coat of Golden Egg over Ponder This here and had nice coverage. The gold/blue combo is perfection with this pair and my favorite detail is the splash of iridescent glitters which catch the light beautifully.

The August LE Charity Polish benefits Reading is Fundamental (http://www.rif.org/, instagram @readingisfundamental). I was so very excited when I saw the name of this polish because The Boxcar Children series were some of my absolute favorite books when I was a kid...I read them over and over again!
The Boxcar Children is a raspberry red jelly with metallic silver flakes, violet-blue shimmers and a strong scattered holographic finish. Formula was excellent with full coverage in 2 coats. The color of this polish is so rich and decadent. It has so much depth and interest with the added shimmer and flakes.
